Self-Comforting & Calming Energy Exercise

February 15th, 2013 | Posted by Velda in COLORS

Practice this exercise whenever you need self-comforting and calming energy.  Start by placing right hand over the middle of your chest, and left hand on top of right hand. Close your eyes and begin breathing in and out slowly.  Envision the color emerald green swirling around in the palm of your hand and flowing into your Heart Chakra.

Focus your intent on filling your Heart Chakra with warm and radiant loving energy.  Breathe deeply and allow the calming warmth to flow through your entire inner being.  This can bring a feeling of unconditional love and sometimes tears from the feelings of comfort, relieve, and gratitude.  ENJOY!

gemstone ruby be my valentineYou might want to consider Ruby to be your Valentine gemstone.  In Doreen Virtue, PH.D, and Judith Lukomski’s book, Crystal Therapy How to Heal and Empower Your life with Crystal Energy, they write the following about the Ruby:  “This gem strengthens love, induces awareness of your heart’s connections, and allows you to care for yourself so that you may receive devotion.”

More about Ruby from Judy Hall’s book, The Crystal Bible a Definitive Guide to Crystals.  Ruby stimulates the Heart Chakra and balances the heart.  It encourages “following the bliss.”  Emotionally, Ruby is dynamic.  It charges up passion and enthusiasm.  Ruby is a sociable stone that attracts sexual activity.

hulu hoop for heart chakra exerciseSwimming, jogging, and push-ups are great energetic exercises for the Heart Chakra.  However, I have found a more challenging and fun exercise which possibly some of us haven’t tried since our childhood.  It is playing with a hula hoop.  If you haven’t noticed, this round object can still be found.  Truly this is a great Heart Chakra exercise, even if you are one of the many that can’t get the hoop to hula, your inner child will have such a blast trying.

love is the best exercise for the heart chakra

While practicing this Heart Chakra exercise it is a perfect time to hum, chant or sing the words:  love, love, love.  Opening up our hearts to our self and others is the best healing exercise to open up the Heart Chakra.

I decided to dedicate each day this Valentine’s week to the Heart Chakra.  I was thrilled when I found this wonderful little book by Ambika Wauters called Healing with the Energy of the Chakras.  I would like to share the following “Questionnaire for the Heart Chakra” from her book:

1.  Is love at the core of your life?

2.  What things about yourself do you love?  Do you have a sense of your own loveliness?

3.  What things about yourself do you truly enjoy?

4.  Who are the people you love and are truly grateful for in your life?  What do you love about each one of them?

5.  Do you remember a time when you felt deeply loved?  Do you remember a time you felt deep love for someone?

6.  How do you express your love to others?

7.  What experiences have helped you to love yourself and others?

8.  Have there been people in your life who have helped you to experience love more fully?

9.  Who in your life has loved you unconditionally?

10. Who have you loved unconditionally?

11.  Are there people you need to forgive in order to open your heart?

12.  Are you willing to release anger and resentment so that there is more love available to you?

13.  Can you forgive yourself for the times you have not been loving to yourself or to others?

14.  Would you like more love in your life?  Could you allow it into your experience?

Tanzanite For Brow Chakra Issues

February 10th, 2013 | Posted by Velda in GEMSTONES

Tanzanite for brow issuesTanzanite is a wonderful gemstone to have when working with Brow Chakra issues.  Emotionally, it helps overcome fear, stress, and dealing with crises.  It has the power to transform negative energies into positive ones.  It dispels lethargy and brings repressed feelings to the surface so that they can be expressed.  Mentally, Tanzanite helps solve questions related to the meaning of life, and coming to terms with oneself.  Physically, this gemstone is a wonderful tool to encourage recovery from illness.  It calms the nerves and lymphatic systems,  helps one to find inner balance, and helps with sleeping problems.   The dark Tanzanite is recommended for pain because Indigo is the strongest painkiller in the color spectrum.  It is extremely beneficial to wear or place the Tanzanite on the body in direct contact with the skin, where appropriate.

Indigo’s Healing Properties & More

healing properites of indigo

The healing properties of Indigo may help when needing to find inner balance, calming nerves and lymphatic systems, having hearing or eye problems, or sleeping problems. Indigo is a great purifier of the bloodstream. It may also benefit mental problems. Indigo relates to self responsibility and following one’s own intuition. This is the healing color for the Brow Chakra.

Indigo combines the deep blue of devotion with a trace of stabilizing and objective red. This color is cool and electric. When surrounded with too much Indigo, the ego can get the better of us and we can begin to think we are spiritually above others. With too little Indigo in our lives, we can become over sensitive, fearful, and undisciplined withdrawing into the fantasies of romantic novels and wishful thinking.

eliminate negative self talk with positive thinking

The following advice is from the Mayo Clinic on reducing stress by eliminating negative self-talk. First, Identifying Negative Thinking:  (1) Filtering – magnify the negative aspects of a situation and filter out all the positive ones; (2) Personalizing – automatically blame yourself when something bad occurs; (3)  Catastrophizing – anticipate the worst if something goes wrong; (4)  Polarizing – see things only as good or bad, black or white.  There is no middle ground.

Here are some ways to practice turning negative thinking in a more positive and optimistic way - Focusing on Positive Thinking: (1)  Identify areas of your life that you think about negatively.  Start small by focusing on one area to approach in a more positive way;  (2)  Check yourself throughout the day.  When your thoughts are negative try to find a way to put a positive spin on them; (3)  Be open to humor -When you can laugh at life, you feel less stressed; (4) Follow a healthy lifestyle – including exercise, healthy diet, and learning other healthy options to manage stress; (5) Surround yourself with positive people; and (6) Practice positive self-talk by practicing this one simple rule:  Don’t say anything to yourself that you wouldn’t say to anyone else.

I have included the Mayo Clinic link if you choose to read more on reducing stress by eliminating negative self-talk.

Brow Affirmation & Meditation Combined

February 6th, 2013 | Posted by Velda in AFFIRMATIONS

browindigomeditationaffirmationToday we are experimenting with combining Brow Affirmations with Brow (Third Eye Opening) Meditation.  First begin meditation, focus on your breath, eyes closed.  Bring your awareness to the third eye area (between your eyebrows) and imagine an indigo light.  You may start to feel a tingling sensation.  Continue meditation for 3 – 5 minutes.  You can repeat this quick meditation each day until you start seeing eye-shaped indigo blue or violet which means your Third Eye Chakra is open.  Next select one or more of the affirmations listed below and repeat them several times out loud to yourself with love and acceptance.

browchakraaffirmations1.  I open myself to my intuition and deepest knowing.

5.  I am responsible for the joy and happiness in my life.
