eOn a previous Tuesday’s Healing Word post we looked at forgiveness. Learning to let go and to forgive is to break the bonds with your past and go forward to your future. The secret of forgiving someone is not for them - it is for you! Listed below are several helpful affirmation exercises followed by examples of Forgiveness Affirmations. Remember affirmations are the same as doing any type of repetitive exercise to change or learn a new behavior. I invite you to choose one of the Affirmation Exercises to practice FORGIVENESS!
FORGIVENESS AFFIRMATION EXERCISES
1. Select and recite a forgiveness affirmation in the morning, at midday, in the evening.
2. Write or say a forgiveness affirmation at least 40 times daily 40 days. It takes 40 days to impress upon the unconscious “reacting” mind all that you desire and dream. It then becomes automatic behavior in the conscious “acting” mind. (Helpful Hint – put 40 beads or beans in a cup and take out a bean when you say each affirmation. You will not have to focus on counting your affirmations.)
EXAMPLES OF FORGIVENESS AFFIRMATIONS
I let go and forgive those that have harmed me. I AM free!
I forgive my family and embrace them with Love and compassion.
I forgive everybody and everybody forgives me. I now go forward to live my life.
I am forgiving, loving, gentle and kind and am safe in the knowledge that life loves me.
Forgiveness brings me emotional and mental freedom.
I feel empowered when I forgive myself and others.
I release the past.
