nature's healing gift colors of auturmn

During my early grade school years:

A favorite autumn thing to do at recess and lunch time was to build houses in the leaves.  We would rake the leaves with our hands and feet to make walls for the rooms of the house we were building.  There were never any leaves left inside the rooms. We were very thorough. This was probably pretend playing house, but hopefully while playing in the beautiful colors of fall, there also were early architects and designers in the making.

What are your favorite memories of Autumn colors?

holding & cradling the solar plexus

This is an exercise Donna Eden shares in her book Energy Medicine Balancing Your body’s Energies for Optimal Health, Joy, and Vitality.   She tells us that having gratitude lifts our energy and is good for our health.  We can choose to select one or all the chakras for channeling our gratitude and thanksgiving when practicing this exercise.  Today we will concentrate on the Solar Plexus Chakra.

holding & cradling the solar plexus

Holding & cradling the solar plexusStart by holding your hands over your third chakra (Solar Plexus).

Bring your elbows to the sides of your body, hug and cradle the chakra like a baby.

Holding & cradling the solar plexusBring your mind’s eye into the Solar Plexus and breathe deeply.

Now is the time to send thanksgiving and gratitude to the chakra.

Holding & cradling the solar plexus

The Solar Plexus is often overactive, you can calm it with a ‘shhh’ like you would an infant.

Your body will respond.  Be open to the experience.

Remember you can cradle and express gratitude toward any chakra!

The Emotional Power of Seed Thoughts

the emotional power of seedthoughts

There have been many books written about the power of our seed thoughts.  I have been the most moved by Barbara Levine’s book Your Body Believes Every Word You Say.  She wrote this book after being stricken with a life-threatening brain tumor. After being misdiagnosed for years, she began looking at the role her language played in reinforcing her illness.

She began tracing phrases such as: “that breaks my heart”, “it’s a pain in the butt”, and “I don’t have my head on straight”.  In the book she lists hundreds of common examples of words we use unconsciously every day and shows us how to avoid “dis-easing” language that sabotages our physical and emotional wellness.

Barbara Levine’s Self-Help Experience #11 – Changing Upsetting Thoughts

1. Release a negative thought by saying the word “cancel” or “delete”.

2.  After you cancel, replace with positive seed thought.

3.  Or visualize using an eraser on negative thought then create a positive replacement thought.

tuesday's healing word simplicity

Simplicity: being content with the basic gifts of life.

Simplicity gives us clarity and single-pointed concentration. It frees our minds from the stress of overdoing. We appreciate the little things, daily joys, and opportunities to be kind. We live in the moment and savor what is right before our eyes. We enjoy simply being.

Tuesday's Healing Word Simplicity

“I have just three things to teach:

Simplicity, patience, compassion.

These three are your greatest treasures.”

~Lao Tzu

I am thankful for the gift of Simplicity.

I find joy in the simple things in life.

 Water Facet Energy Balancing Exercise

Would you have ever guessed that balancing energy can be as easy as standing at your kitchen sink? Author Alla Svirinskaya writes about healing with water in her book Energy Secrets The Ultimate Well-Being Plan. She explains how we can learn to use water for balancing energy which will both purify and boost our energy levels.  Her following exercise is also good for removing negative energy:

Water Exercise to Balance Energy

Water Faucet Energy BalancingBegin with a large glass of natural spring water.

Sit quietly while you slowly drink it.

Feel the water pouring down inside of you.

Feel the coolness and wetness of the water when it enters the stomach.

Imagine the feeling as it passes through your body.

Now turn on the cold-water tap.

Stand in front of it with your back straight.Water Faucet Energy Balancing

Stretch out your hands towards the cold-water stream.

Turn your palms so they are facing each other around the stream.

Ensure the water flows down in-between your palms without touching them.

All the time, perform this exercise very slowly.

Water Faucet Energy Balancing

The sense of coolness changes to rejuvenation.

Let this empowerment spread through your body.

With increased sense of vitality and purity you can end the exercise.

Thank the water for the balanced energy it has given you.

heart with nature.

 but the soul.”

October Letting Be and Letting Go

Angeles Arrien’s  October Chapter in her book Living in Gratitude-A Journey That will Change Your Life, addresses the gratitude of Letting Be and Letting Go. She writes Letting be and letting go are two processes that challenge us every day to accept things as they are, especially during times of change.”October Gratitude Letting Be Letting Go

“The state of letting be requires us to increase our levels of trust and acceptance of what is occurring in the moment, without pushing or holding back to attempt to create a different experience.”

October Gratitude Letting Be Letting Go

“Letting Go is a willingness to release, in the moment, what might impede our progress. When we sense resistance in letting go, this may be a signal where we are overly attached to controlling.”

Tuesday's Healing Word TruthThe following message is from the song:

‘The Truth Will Make Me Free’ written by Fred Rogers

I’m learning to sing a sad song when I’m sad.
I’m learning to say I’m angry when I’m very mad.
I’m learning to shout,
I’m getting it out,
I’m happy, learning
Exactly how I feel inside of me
I’m learning to know the truth
I’m learning to tell the truth
Discovering truth will make me free.

There is a special gem of a book called The World According to Mister Rogers, Important things to Remember. It is a collection of stories, anecdotes, and insights written by Fred Rogers.  The first chapter is entitled The Courage to Be Yourself.  Why can’t we accept our truths: our talents, our passions, our virtues?  According to Mr. Rogers “Discovering the truth about ourselves is a lifetime’s work, but it’s worth the effort.”

Tuesday's healing word - truth

I speak my truths.

I am content to be my true self.

I know the healing power of my truths.
