Animal Spirit Guide Magpie

Why magpies today? I am here in Alaska again and two magpies are outside the window in the snow covered trees. Magpie’s messages of things to come; two could mean that a beautiful union of two people is likely to transpire soon. (This speaks to me).  Female magpies are strong, forcefully assertive. Male magpies are calm, quietly contemplative.  The animal spirit of magpie teaches that we achieve balance of our masculine and feminine aspects in practical methods. She asks that we swoop and fight when the time is right. He asks that we stop and contemplate in place of acting ‘busy’.

Steven D. Farmer, Ph.D. writes the following in his book Animal Spirit Guides:

If a Magpie shows up, it means:  Act on opportunities that present themselves. It’s also important now to check and balance your polarities, such as masculine-feminine, intellect-emotions, or spiritual-mundane.  Be straightforward in your verbal communication, saying what you mean while at the same time listening carefully to what the other person is saying.

Call on Magpie when: You are involved in a project that requires the use of ingenuity and resourcefulness which might not always be obvious.

If Magpie is your Power Animal: You are resourceful, intelligent, and adaptable, drawing on whatever’s available to achieve your objectives.  Your interests are broad and varied which leads to exploring anything that comes across your path.Animal Spirit Guide - Magpie

tuesday's healing word - journey

In the book Healing Words for the Body, Mind, and Spirit-101 Words to Inspire and Affirm, author Caren Goldman writes “The healing changes we courageously sought for our bodies, minds, and spirits must come from within.  But now, thanks to our journeys, we do, at last, have the wisdom, strength, determination, perspective, and belief in ourselves to choose to make them happen.”

Do you experience WINTER BLUES?  An effective way to change your moody outlook is to brighten up your life with color. Research has proven how color therapy, or chromo therapy, is a natural way to lift your spirits.  In a Doityourself.com article  ‘Go away winter blues’ it states that colors Yellow, Orange, and Red have power to lift the spirit, combat cabin fever and chase away those winter blues.

  1. Yellow captures the joy of sunshine, communicates happiness and stimulates your mind. It helps to reduce depression, giving one a sense of hope, reminding us that spring is just around the corner.  It is important to expose yourself to morning sunlight as early as you can.
  2. Orange evokes excitement, enthusiasm and is an energetic color.  It is joyful, playful, creative, and social color.
  3. Red stimulates the body metabolism, and encourages one to engage in activity. The color red fights depression and gives one the energy to get up and do something.

Chase away the WINTER BLUES by introducing these powerful colors in your apparel, food you eat, and your home environment.  So hurrah for Yellow, Orange, & Red.

Safety Energy Locks for HeadachesHead discomforts of all kinds can be harmonized utilizing finger holds and certain flow patterns from the Jin Shin Jyutsu Self Help Books by Alice Burmeister.

Try these simple methods each time you have a headache: Hold your thumbs including the pad of the thumb, aka Safety Energy Lock 18,  left then right for approximately 2 minutes. This will also help you de-stress and relax.

Safety Energy Locks for Headaches

For migraines or any chronic/severe headaches, the trick is to bring energy down to your feet.Safety Energy Locks for Headaches

Try these steps when you feel an onslaught of discomfort in your head: Sitting or lying down, using your right hand reach towards your right foot and touch the area just below your ankle bone where you feel the ‘hollow’ area, aka Safety Energy Lock 16, outside the heel. Do the same with the left hand for your left ankle bone area. Hold both until you feel a pulse.

Next with your right hand use all your fingers to touch the base of the thumb.  Hold until you feel a pulse or for 5 minutes. Next hold your head where you feel the migraine or pain(s) until you feel a pulse. Finish with the ankle holds again.

Animal Spirit Guide - MooseMoose is one of the most ancient and unique of power animals.  When Moose comes into your life and lends you sacred and unique energy, the primal contact with the great Feminine force is awakened.  It is an invitation to learn to explore new depths of awareness and sensitivity within yourself and within your environs.

If moose is your power animal then you will at times appear clumsy yet graceful.  You have an innate ability to be balanced – when to be gentle, when to be strong, what to say when and to whom.

Moose is a very powerful totem to have and will help you discover who you are and put you in touch with your congenital wisdom.

When Moose appears in a dream, it is said to reflect a long, good life.Aniaml Spirit Guide Moose

Color Affirmations For The Chakras

Color Affirmations for the Chakras

This is a lovely way of combining vibrational energy of color with the positive influence of affirmations on our physical, mental and spiritual chakra centers.  You might want to take one week to focus on one chakra affirmation each day of the week.  I suggest that you also include that particular color either with clothing, flowers, gemstones, or other accessories.  You may find that working with only one chakra affirmation feels best.   Here are your choices:

Orange Essential Oil “Winter’s Happy Oil”

Orange Essential Oil "Winter Happy Oil"

orange essential oil winter's happy oil

Orange Essential Oil has a rich, fruity scent that lifts the spirit while providing a calming influence on the body.  I like to think of it as winter’s “happy oil.” It is great to use when you have a group of cranky people in the house. It is very difficult to be depressed when the air is full of the scent of orange. This oil brings peace and happiness to the mind.
