Many of us shy away from spiders and the thought that they are spirit animals. To the native Americans, Grandmother Spider kept and taught the mysteries of the past and how they were affecting the future.  Steven D. Farmer, Ph.D. shares the following in his book Animal Spirit Guides:

Call on SPIDER when:  You feel trapped and don’t see a way out.  You’ve had some negative experiences recently and you want to discern the teachings from them as quickly as possible.  You are not happy and want to make some significant changes.  You feel out of balance and want to recapture a sense of equilibrium physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

If SPIDER is your POWER ANIMAL:  It takes quite a bit to arouse your anger, but once that happens, your sting can hurt.  You’re in touch with and express a very powerful feminine creative force.  You have a knack for writing, with the ability to weave words together in new and creative ways, often affecting others profoundly with their magic.

 Hawaiian Harmony "Sacred Light" Exercise

There are several exercises on how to use white light for protection from negativity.  We can visualize having white light come from above our Crown Chakra radiate throughout our chakra system and create a protective bubble in our aura or energy field.

In his book Endless Energy,  Serge Kahili King, Ph.D., shares the Hawaiian concept called la’a kea which means “sacred light” and it is used  differently.  Basically,  put attention on your aura or energy field and make it your intention to have a field of harmony instead of protection surrounding you.

1.  Take a couple of deep breaths to stimulate your energy field.  For just a moment, imagine you are protected from negativity by a white light or energy that surrounds you.

2.  Now, change that with your mind and your intent from a light of protection to a light of harmony. Visualize that this light around you has the power to harmonize any disharmony.  It has the power to change vibrations so that they become healthy and helpful.

3.  Feel the light of harmony around you and be aware of the difference.

4.  Take a deep breath and come back when you are ready.  There are times that you will want to use white light for protection, but Dr. King believes you will find most of the time that sacred light for harmony will be more beneficial.

Barbara Hoberman Levine, author of Your Body Believes Every Word You Say writes,  “the term Seedthoughts occurred to her as a summary of the correspondence of language to symptoms.  Seedthoughts is shorthand for the idea that thoughts affect us physically and emotionally. They can lead to the development of physical symptoms of disease in our bodies.  Our thoughts are like seeds that we plant in our minds and hearts.  When they germinate they produce wellness or illness.”

In the author’s Self-Help Experience # 11, she gives instructions on how to change upsetting thoughts.

Purpose:  To give you practice in changing your mind to control the effects of your emotions.  Being upset will simply add more power and energy to a negative thought.  You can abort an anxiety attack with this harmonizing technique.

1.  Release a negative thought by saying a particular word or phrase, like “cancel”, “delete”, or “God forbid”.  (Example – You might think “This project is a headache. Cancel, cancel.”) After you cancel, replace the negative thought with a positive one. (Example – This project is very challenging.)   This is reprograming your mind in a more positive way.Your Body Listens to Seedthoughts

Does Your Aura Need Massaged

Massaging the aura by spinning in circles is one of five Tibetan exercises in the yogic tradition used to energize life force.

Does Your Aura Need Massaged1.  To do this exercise, stand erect, with your arms out horizontally and hands opened as shown in illustration.  If holding arms up is uncomfortable, let your arms hang loosely down at your sides.

2.  Focus on a fixed point in front of you.  Begin spinning around, as you did when you were a child, turning clockwise.  Each time you make a complete turn, bring your focus back to a fixed point on the wall in front of you. Breathe normally throughout this exercise.

3.  Try to spin a minimum of eleven times.  Turn at a comfortable speed for you.  If you become dizzy, stop.   You will be able to build up speed and increase spins up to twenty-one times with practice. (Please do not exceed twenty-one spins.)

4.  After spinning, lie down.  You will continue to experience spinning sensations.  This is fine.  Allow yourself to go deeper and feel your life force surging with energy.
