Healing Properties of Chalcedony

June 22nd, 2017 | Posted by Velda in GEMSTONES

Chalcedony is a type of quartz that comes in many colors. In Michael Gienger’s book, Crystal Power, Crystal Healing, he shares the following information on the healing properties of Chalcedony.Healing Properties of Calcedony

Spiritually:  Represents both aspects of communication; the ability to listen, to understand, and to communicate effectively.

Emotionally:  Bestows a light-heartedness, and elated feeling for life. It enhances conscious self-awareness, improves memory, calms and dissolves stress.

Mentally:  Improves powers of oratory, verbal dexterity, and increases creativity and openness to inspiration.

Physically:  Alleviates problems of the respiratory tract, lowers blood pressure, and enhances the immune system.  It can also help with early stages of diabetes.

Chalcedony Healing Properties

Spiritually:  Helps us live in the present, face unpleasant things, communicate calmly, and remain relaxed.

Emotionally:  Stimulates proper processing of inner images and memories.  Helps develop open attitude towards fellow human beings and the environment.

Mentally:  It encourages both a proper sense of judgement and tolerance.

Physically:  Stimulates the metabolism of copper in the body, detoxification of the liver, and strengthens the immune system.

Healing Properties of Chalcedony

Spiritually:  Represents sociable nature which is able to discriminate clearly between its own spiritual goals and the influences of others.

Emotionally:  Encourages clear thinking and systematic research to identify what motives and values lie behind a piece of information.

Mentally:  Also encourages precise thinking to comprehend the real meaning and motives behind information received.

Physically:  Its effects are similar but stronger that Blue Chalcedony in the case of chronic illnesses and the physical problems associated with smoking.

Healing Properties of Chalcedony

Spiritually:  Represents liveliness, understanding and helpfulness.  It enhances the ability to listen and help others deal with their problems and sorrows.

Emotionally:  Encourages goodness, kindness, and warm-heartedness.  It bestows a carefree attitude, inner peace, and deep trust, particularly in the case of conflicts and psychosomatic illnesses, such as anxiety about the heart.

Mentally:  Teaches us to view the world with a sense of wonder.  It brings a child-like curiosity, the willingness to learn new things, and encourages the gift of story-telling.

Physically:  Offers liveliness and warmth.  It fortifies the heart so it can function strongly without effort.  It eases breastfeeding and provides the inner tranquility for the task.  Just like the Blue Chalcedony, it enhances the immune system and the flow of lymphatic fluids.

Healing Properties of Chalcedony

Spiritually:  Bestows strength, persistence, the energy to overcome difficulties, and helps to attain set goals.  Helps keep the mind flexible without sacrificing our own point of view.

Emotionally:  Gives us strength and confidence.  Makes us aware of our own life’s dreams and helps to realize them without letting a fixation upon them arise.

Mentally:  Encourages openness and inspiration and fortifies our intentions, which makes it easier for one’s voice to be heard.

Physically:  Stimulates blood circulation without allowing the blood pressure to become to high.  It inhibits the absorption of nutrients in the small intestine and reduces hunger pangs.  (Red Chalcedony should only be used continuously for about two – three weeks.  Inhibiting the absorption of nutrients longer may induce temporary nausea).

Tuesday's Healing Word-Detachment

Detachment is experiencing our feelings without allowing them to control us.   We can practice letting go and accepting what we cannot change.  It is freedom from bias or prejudice.  Detachment is a deep breath of peace and patience in response to unexpected anger.  We can listen without losing ourselves.

“Detachment does not mean

non-involvement.

You can be deeply involved

but not entangled.”

~Ali ibn abi Talib (601-661)

Tuesday's Healing Word - Detachment

It is self-healing to detach from others’ choices, knowing that their spiritual work is not ours to do.  When we see and accept our mistakes honestly, we can make amends and start afresh with detachment.

Tuesday's Healing Word - Detachment

Practicing detachment frees us to lead our lives with grace.

Auric Crystal Healing

Auric Crystal Healing

Your Aura is the energetic force that surrounds your entire being. The purpose of the aura is to act as a protective screen to block out and repel the negative energies, thoughts, and feelings of others, and also to prevent leakage of your own energy. However, holes, known as auric tears, can form within the aura, weakening it, and thus making it susceptible to harm by invading outside energies. These tears have many causes, including stress, trauma, depression, abuse, and physical injuries or illnesses to name just a few.

The following stones can be used for auric health and protection:

Auric Crystal HealingAmber aligns the subtle bodies with the physical body. Releases negative energy.

Amethyst heals holes in the aura, cleanses it, draws in divine energy to protect the aura.

Apache Tear protects the aura and prevents it from absorbing negative energies from any source, but especially the negativity of other people.

Bloodstone cleanses the aura.

Carnelian repairs the aura.

Citrine cleanses and aligns the aura.

Jet protects against other’s negative thoughts.

Magnetite strengthens the aura.

Quartz cleanses, protects, and strengthens the aura. Seals auric tears.

Smoky Quartz  grounds energy and removes negative energy from the aura.

Green Tourmaline heals auric tears.

Methods used to protect your Aura:

1.  Slowly pass your chosen stone or crystal over the aura (the space around the entire body).  An auric tear will feel cold and empty. The stone may start to feel differently, such as becoming cold or vibrating slightly. Once you’ve located a hole or tear, hold the stone over the area for several moments.

2.  Hold your chosen stone or crystal over each chakra starting with the Root Chakra for a few moments. Doing so periodically will help to keep your chakras strong and healthy, which in turn will help to keep your aura healthy as well. If damage is sensed over a chakra (the same as with the aura), move the stone in a counter-clockwise motion over the chakra. This will release any negative energy that may be lingering there. Then move the stone in a clockwise pattern over the chakra. This will heal the chakra and seal it.

3.  The easiest way to use stones for protection of any kind (physical, emotional, auric, etc.) is to carry your chosen protection stone in a pocket, or a stone talisman may be carried for protection, or your favorite aura protection stone jewelry can be worn.

Lakshmi Goddess Of Abundance & Wisdom

May 24th, 2017 | Posted by Velda in GODDESS WISDOM

Goddess Of Abundance & Wisdom

Goddess Lakshmi (pronounced LOCK-shmee) is known as the Hindu Goddess of Abundance and Wisdom.  Her connection to the lotus flowers, elephants, and water represents her absolute faith in the fertility and abundance available to everyone.  Lakshmi works with Ganesh, the elephant-headed deity, known as the “overcomer of obstacles.”  United together, they are an unstoppable team to help you release fear and accept abundance in your life.

Lakshmi Goddess of Abundance & Wisdom

Lakshmi manifested herself in the form of art and knowledge.  She is a lover of books and of the wisdom to be found in them and is happy to bring you a supply of knowledge and opportunity  She is known to have taught her followers to be truthful, philanthropic and sincere.  Amy Zerner & Monte Farber’s book, Goddess, Guide Me, give us the following:

Lakshmi Goddess of Abundance & WisdomLAKSHMI’S  RITUAL – GET WISE!

“Charge up” a glass of water with energy by placing a small, clean amethyst crystal in it and leaving the glass on a window sill in the moonlight (if possible) overnight. In the morning, remove the crystal and face the sunlight while drinking the water which has absorbed LAKSHMI’s wisdom. Now close your eyes and imagine a beautiful lotus opening up; from a bud to a mature open flower. See it unfolding in the center of your forehead between your eyes, the place where the mystical third eye is found. Recite the following words nine times:

Unveil my eye and let me see.

Reveal what has eluded me.

Let freedom, faith and honesty

Take me far on land and sea.

Whenever you need to rise above your situation or gain perspective, imagine the lotus blooming as you see your third eye opening as well. Be open to the answers you will receive.

Fearlessness Mudra Exercises

Fearless Mudra Exercises

Fearlessness Mudra Exercises Abhaya Mudra

Meaning: In Sanskrit, “Abhaya” means “fearlessness”.

What It Does: This mudra symbolizes protection, peace, benevolence, and the dispelling of fear. It also is an ancient one, demonstrating that the hand is empty of weapons. It indicates friendship and peace. In Buddhism, it’s a symbol of the fearlessness and the spiritual power of the Buddha or bodhisattva.

 Hansi Mudra

Meaning:  Courage Mudra (Hansi)

What It Does: This Mudra helps to evoke courage, fearlessness, and relieves anxiety.  It also can stimulate feelings of self-love, acceptance, and ease feelings of loneliness and isolation.

How To:  Touch tips of all fingers together except for the pinkie fingers. Hold hands out to sides in a cactus position with extended pinkies pointing upwards.

Practice Fearlessness Mudra Exercises

Fearlessness Mudra Exercises

•  Mudras can be practiced while seated, lying down, standing, and walking.  It is best to be in a meditative mood.

•  Gertrud Hirschi, author of Mudras Yoga in Your Hands,  suggests a good time to practice is a few minutes before getting up and a few minutes before falling asleep, before or after meals, and on your walks.

•  Pay attention to a symmetrical posture and your breath.  To calm yourself, remember to slow your breath.  To refresh yourself, remember to intensify your breathing.

•  Great masters do not agree on the length of time to practice mudra positions.  I recommend that you start with holding each mudra 1 to 3 minutes at least 2 – 3 times a day.   If you can only hold these positions for one minute and often during the day, you will benefit.  FEARLESSNESS FEELS GREAT!

Take An 'AWE' Meditation Walk

“What is an AWE walk?  An awe walk is a walk within a place of meaning and beauty, where your sole task is to encounter something that amazes and transcends, be it big or small.”  This is from Mindful Magazine’s April, 2017, issue titled,  A Guided Awe Walk Meditation.  We all have felt those awe moments when walking in a wooded forest, a botanical garden, a blossoming desert, or on a sandy beach.  I believe we take our meditation walks with eyes, ears, and hearts open.  There will always be something that brings us to that ‘AWE’ moment.  It can be touching the bark of a tree, seeing a rabbit grazing or listening to nature’s surrounding choir.

Take An 'AWE' Meditation Walk

‘AWE’ Walking Meditation Practice

1) Take a deep breath in. Count to six as you inhale and six as you exhale. Feel the air move through your nasal passages and hear the sound of your breath. We’ll come back to this breath throughout the walk.

2) Feel your feet on the ground and listen to the surrounding sounds. Return to your breath. Count to six while you inhale and six as you exhale.

3) Shift your awareness now so that you are open to what is around you.  Notice things that are vast and unexpected; or things that surprise, and delight. Take a deep breath in. Count to six as you inhale and six as you exhale.

Take An 'AWE' Meditation Walk

4) Let your attention be open in exploration for what inspires ‘AWE’. Your attention might appreciate vast spaces, and the sounds and sights within them. You might shift to small patterns, for example of the sorrel on the ground, or the veins on leaves, or a cluster of tiny mushrooms.

5) Bring your attention back to the breath. Count to six as you inhale and six as you exhale. Coming out of these experiences of awe, we often feel a sense of wonder. Wonder happens when we are delighted by that which surprises us, and we are moved to find explanations and deep meaning.

Tuesday's Healing Word Wonder

Wonder is a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.  It is being open to the mysteries of life.  When we look at the grandeur of nature, it can move us deeply.  It is our soul’s appreciation for that which is precious and inspiring.

“The more clearly we can focus our attention

on the wonders and realities of the universe about us,

the less taste we shall have for destruction.”

~Rachel Carson

Peacock Ore (also known as Bornite) brings freshness and newness to ones life.  This stone stimulates one to seek further heights and initiates the ability to enjoy joyfulness in the moment.   It protects from negative energy and provides insight of blockages in life which stop us from moving on. If you are having a bad day or have lost the feeling of joy in your life, try wearing or carrying this stone around with you for a while.  Bornite can bring you the ability to see and appreciate  happiness, as well as a feeling of acceptance that all is exactly as it should be, exactly as it is!

Peacock Ore-Stone Of JoyfulnessPHYSICAL HEALING:

Peacock Ore is one of the strongest physical healing stones in the mineral kingdom.  It has the ability to align every chakra. When used for healing, especially in the area above the navel chakra, it assists in the flow of adrenalin. Bornite will increase alkalinity. Also, it can be used to lower calcium levels in the body. This would work well in treating arthritic conditions.  When used below the navel chakra, the Peacock Ore will increase the acidic level and lower one’s alkaline level. In this position it will also help lower the sodium content of the body.

“A Road In Our Hearts”

A Road In Our Hearts

Chief Luther Standing Bear’s Words of Wisdom

“There is a road in the hearts of all of us,

hidden and seldom traveled,

which leads to an unknown, secret place.

The old people came literally to love the soil,

and they sat or reclined on the ground,

with a feeling of being close to a mothering power.

A Road In Our Hearts

Their teepees were built upon the earth,

and their altars were made of earth.

The soul was soothing,

strengthening, cleansing and healing.

That is why the old Indian still sits upon the earth,

instead of propping herself up,

and away from its life giving forces.

A Road In Our Hearts

For her,

to sit or lie upon the ground,

is to be able to think more deeply,

and to feel more keenly.

 She can see more clearly

into the mysteries of life

and come closer in kinship

to other lives about her.”

(masculine nouns were substituted with feminine nouns)

A Road In Our Hearts

Luther Standing Bear  was a notable educator, philosopher, and actor during the twentieth century.  Standing Bear left the confinement of the reservation, but continued his responsibilities, as an Oglala Lakota chief, fighting to preserve Lakota heritage and sovereignty.  He was actively at the forefront of a Progressive movement to change government policy toward Native Americans.  On February 20, 1939, Luther Standing Bear died in Huntington Beach, California, at age of 70 of the flu while on the set of the film Union Pacific.  He was buried in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery,  far from his Lakota homeland, with his sacred pipe.

Wolf Animal Spirit Guide

Wolf Animal Spirit Guide

To American Indians, the wolf is said to be “teacher medicine”.   Wolf  has much to teach us, if only we will listen.  Wolf spirit teaches us to have balance between our personal needs and those of the family and community.  They are committed and loyal to the pack and find their place within the group.   The following information can be found in my favorite reference book, Animal Spirit Guides, by Steven D. Farmer, Ph.D.

Wolf Animal Spirit Guide

If  WOLF shows up, it means:

•  Valuable insights, ideas, and new teachings are coming your way so pay close attention.

•  Make cooperation a priority over competition.

•  Maintain your self-esteem, integrity and deeply trust your inner knowing.

Call on WOLF when:

•  You’re confused about your life path and purpose.

•  You have been feeling a little too civilized and want to tap in to the wild and instinctual.

•  You want to be more expressive in your communication.

If  WOLF is your POWER ANIMAL:

•  You are a natural-born teacher, imparting knowledge based on experience.

•  You are expressive verbally and can tell a story with a great deal of passion, and animation.

•  You would rather avoid confrontation, but will fiercely defend yourself and loved ones when necessary.

WOLF Dream Visits (not found in Dr. Farmer’s Book)

•  To see a white wolf in your dream signifies valor and victory. You have the ability to see the light even in your darkest hours.

•  To see a black wolf in your dream represents your shadow. There are characteristics of the wolf that you are refusing to acknowledge or incorporate into your Self.

•  To hear a wolf howling in your dream represents a cry for help from somebody in your waking life.Wolf Animal Spirit Guide
