Listen To Your Body

I have enjoyed reading Ruth White’s book called Using Your Chakras.  She mentions “our bodies speak a very simple even primitive language.”  She goes on to explain that many times we ignore bodily symptoms and probably an initial look at the language of the symptoms may help us to understand the symbolic message they are giving.  For example, how many of us find that our back or neck is our most vulnerable area?

The author suggests when you get a neck  pain, ask the following questions.  Each question must always be reversed.  It can lead you to explore how it links with your emotions.

Listen To Your Body•  Am I being stiff-necked about certain things?  Or.  Could I possibly  gain from being more stiff-necked about something?

•  Is something (or someone!) being a ‘pain in the neck’ to me?  Or.  Am I being a ‘pain in the neck’ to myself or someone else?

•  Am I ’sticking my neck out’ unnecessarily about some matter?  Or.  Should I try to  ’stick my neck out’ more with a present situation?

Similarly, if there is back pain, you need to ask:

•  Am I being too rigid? Or.  Am I being too flexible?

•  Is someone ‘on my back’? Or.   Am I on someone else’s back?

•  Am I carrying too much for myself or other? Or.   Am I carrying enough or taking enough responsibility?

Above exercise can be used as a guide on how to listen and begin to understand our bodily messages.

Rat Animal Spirit Guide

Rat Animal Spirit Guide

I am dedicating this blog to a dear friend after having a conversation about how many of us have negative feelings about rats.  (I promise only photos of pet rats will be featured in today’s blog).  Lets look at the positive symbolic meanings of the Rat Animal Spirit Guide.   Chinese see the rat as a symbol of industry, and in fact is one of the animals on the Chinese Zodiac.  If Rat has scurried across your path you are being asked to assert yourself in new areas that you have not yet explored.

Rat Animal Spirit GuideThe following is information on the Rat found in Steven D. Farmer, PhD’s book, Animal Spirit Guides:

If RAT show up, it means:

•  A project or investment is about to pay off.  You Have plenty available to you at all times in spite of any thoughts or fears that this isn’t so.

•  This is a good time to exercise caution, and to the best of your ability anticipate what lies ahead.

•  Take an inventory of the material goods you have and recycle or throw out what is no longer purposeful.

Call on RAT when: Rat Animal Spirit Guide

•  You’re involved with a venture that you want to succeed at, yet you are feeling some uncertainty about this happening.

•  You are feeling insecure about having enough supplies, making you want to acquire more and more even though you realistically don’t need that much.  However, you have decided to do some major housecleaning and get rid of unnecessary baggage.

•  You are involved in dealing with someone who is very sharp and want to protect yourself by being just as clever and shrewd.

Rat Animal Spirit GuideIf RAT is your POWER ANIMAL:

•  You tend to hoard your belongings because they help you feel more secure.

•  You adapt very well to your surroundings and your environment.  You are easy going and happy.

•  You are a social animal as well as disarmingly honest and frank.

•  You enjoy the feeling of being successful whenever you have achieved something, and you use your cleverness and cunning to succeed.

Flower Essence for Destiny & Passion

Flower Essence Connects Destiny/Passion

Flower essences are botanical medicines made from wildflowers. They were first developed by Dr. Edward Bach, a British bacteriologist, in the 1930s. After years of research, he discovered 38 flower-based remedies and recommended them for helping patients restore emotional balance. Since that time, further research has been done and hundreds of other flower remedies have been classified.

Flower Essence Connects Destiny & PassionIn my practice, I find flower essences very beneficial when applied topically from the stock bottle in a variety of non-oral ways.  Today, I want to share the following treatment taken from the book, Floral Acupuncture, by Deborah Craydon, C.F.E.P., & Warren Bellows, LIC. A.C. This is a treatment for opening not only to your destiny but also to passion for your destiny task in life.

You will need Holly & Wild Oat Flower Essences ( I recommend Bach), a bowl of 4-6 ounces of water, and cotton balls. Due to the energetic nature of flower essences, it is important to not let the glass dropper touch anything other than the flower essence itself in order to keep the essence as potent as possible.

CONNECTING YOUR DESTINY WITH YOUR PASSIONFlower Essence Connects Destiny & Passion

Holly & Wild Oat Flower Essences  are  applied directly to the Governing Vessel 4 acupressure point known as the Gate of Destiny.  This acupressure (acupuncture) point is where the Element of Water (Wild Oat) ascends and the Element of Fire (Holly) descends.

This is a treatment for opening not only to your destiny but also to passion for your destiny task in life.

Chakra Cleansing Shower Practice

Chakra Cleansing Shower

To start out the new year, it is important to continue exploring ways to keep our chakras cleansed, balanced, and healthy.   Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D., shares the following simple chakra cleansing technique in his book:  Shaman, Healer Sage – How to Heal Yourself and Others with the Energy Medicine of the Americas.

Chakra Cleansing Shower

Chakra Cleansing Shower Practice

1.  Hold your left hand at the base of your spine.

2.  At the same time place the fingers of your right hand three or four inches above the location of the Root Chakra. (See illustration).

3.  Rotate the Root Chakra with the right hand fingertips in a circle, spinning the chakra counterclockwise three or four times. (imagine your body is the face of the clock).

4.  Rinse your fingers in the water.

5.  This eliminates the sludge and toxins that adhere to the walls of the chakra.

6.  Repeat for all seven chakras, making sure to rinse your fingers thoroughly after completing each chakra.  (The approximate location of the Sacral Chakra is the width of three fingers below the naval and the Solar Plexus is approximately the width of three fingers above the navel).

7.  Next go back to the Base Chakra and spin it clockwise three or four times.  Repeat for all seven chakras.

8.  This exercise increases the speed of the chakras, allowing each energy vortex to spin at its optimal frequency.

9.  These clean chakras are able to draw in natural energy to help keep us in exceptional health.

New Year – New Beginning

New Year ~ New Beginning

YESTERDAY’S DOOR

I’ve shut the door on Yesterday,

It’s sorrows and mistakes.

I’ve locked within its gloomy walls

Past failures and heartaches.

And now I throw the key away,

To seek another room,

And furnish it with hope and smiles

And every springtime bloom.

No thought shall enter this Abode

That has a hint of pain;

And envy, malice and distrust

Shall never entrance gain.

I’ve shut the door on Yesterday

And thrown the key away -

Tomorrow holds no fear for me

Since I have found Today.

New Year ~ New Beginning

Another Chance

How often we wish for another chance
to make a fresh beginning.
A chance to blot out our mistakes
And change failure into winning.

It does not take a new day
To make a brand new start,
It only takes a deep desire
To try with all our heart.

To live a little better
And to always be forgiving
And to add a little sunshine
To the world in which we’re living.

So never give up in despair
And think that you are through,
For there’s always a tomorrow
And the hope of starting new.

Candle Colors Healing Chart

Candle Colors Healing Chart

Candle Colors are based on the same principle as that of color therapy. Different colors have different frequencies which, in turn, have different effects on the human psyche.  Candles can also be fragrant and the different fragrances can  reflect differently on one’s feelings and emotions.   We have looked at candle exercises and meditations in the past.  Today I wanted to share the following Candle Color Chart and each color’s meaning and use for easy references in the future.Candle Color Healing Chart

Reminder:  Never use the breath to extinguish a candle flame. This affects the frequency of the ending part of the candle burning session. Use a metal cup or flame snuffer made for this purpose.

Tuesday’s Healing Word Surrender

December 14th, 2016 | Posted by Velda in TUESDAY'S HEALING WORD

Tuesday's Healing Word Surrender

Dr. Judith Orloff, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA, has helped patients find emotional freedom for over 20 years.  She shares the following, 4 Ways to Heal through Surrendering, in her book The Ecstasy of Surrender:

Tuesday's Healing Word Surrender

1. Surrender fear.  The mind has the power to think positively or negatively. The direction you choose can shape your healing. All thoughts aren’t created equal. Some, like fear, are more aggressive than others and take up more space in your psyche. If you indulge fear, a master seducer that preys on your doubts, there will be less room for hope, faith, and love.

Tuesday's Healing Word Surrender2. Surround yourself with healing people.  People can affect our health in a positive or negative way.  To heal, surrender to those who are loving.  Surrendering to the love of friends and family has the power to make you feel good and soften pain. The more you absorb these vibes, the better you will be.

3. Prepare nurturing personal space.  Your physical environment affects your healing. Unclutter your home or recovery room. A serene, light-filled, uncluttered room provides the open space to get well. A dark, stuffy, noisy, chaotic environment is disturbing. It can slow your recovery because you’ll be spending energy fighting off unpleasant distractions and stagnant clutter.

4. Surrender to peacefulness.  Find a serene place in your home where you can rest and relax. Settle into the stillness as you surrender to the peace and beauty. No rushing. No pressure. Take your time in the space. Breathe in the sweet smells, admire the quality of light, the joyous flowers, the lusciousness of a bowl of fruit. Enjoy soothing music that inspires your healing. Create a sacred altar if this resonates with you and feels comforting. Meditate. Absorb the goodness, healing, and rejuvenation all around you.

TripleWarmer/Spleen Balancing Hug

It is very important we help our Triple Warmer and Spleen have a balanced relationship. Triple Warmer is our survival mechanism. The Spleen processes everything physical and emotional and very much cares about the quality and harmony in our life.  Triple Warmer and Spleen sit across from each other on the meridian wheel so they pull energy from each other. Usually Triple Warmer  is hogging all the energy from the Spleen.  Sedating Triple Warmer and strengthening Spleen (and keeping them balanced) is one of the core concepts and practices of Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine.

I invite you to start practicing the following Triple Warmer/Spleen Hug Exercise:Triple Warmer/Spleen Balancing Hug
