Holiday Stress-Free RecipeIngredients:

 1 package of patience with yourself and others.

 1/2 cup full of gratitude for what’s going right.

 A pinch of forgiveness for not taking care of yourself.

 2 times more positive self-talks than negative self-thoughts.

 1 juicy moment for reflecting on the importance of compassion for all.

 1 large focus on making happiness more important than perfection.

 Add as much self-love needed for personal me time.

 A dash of humor to taste.

Directions:Holiday Stress-Free Recipe

1. Chop holiday preparation chores into bite-sized, easily digested pieces, and distribute to others when possible.

2. Sift out and discard comparing yourself to others.

3. Trim off all worry about what others might think.

4. Generously sprinkle words of encouragement for yourself and others. Blend until hearts melt.

5. Gently whisk away the need for perfection.

6. Skim off your need to control.

7. Simmer your nerves. If your temperature runs hot, take time out to cool down if needed.

8. Combine family and friends together. Mix in laugh-out-loud memories.

9. Top with awareness that you’re not alone. Enjoy the Holidays.

Shoulders hold our Emotional Burdens

 Shoulders Hold our Burdens

Today I want to spend time on the Burden Areas located at the shoulders.  The right shoulder is the OUTER WORLD – Burdens and Responsibilities of carrying emotional weight of others on  this shoulder.   The left shoulder is the INNER WORLD – Burdens and Responsibilities of carrying emotional weight of yourself on this shoulder.  I personally know that carried emotional issues can become physical issues, if not released.

The OUTER WORLD (right shoulder) emotional issues could include:  dealing with serious family health concerns, addiction of a loved one, depression of someone close, and responsibility of the care-taking of an terminally ill person or feeling responsible for family unity.

The INNER WORLD (left shoulder) emotional issues could include:  emotional baggage carried from childhood memories, grief over loss of loved one, trauma of physical or sexual abuse, loss of self-esteem, depression, unfulfilled dreams, feeling stuck, guilt, frustration, loneliness, and much more that we carry regarding our self.  We know that tight tense shoulders generally bunch up around our ears, restricting the flow of blood to brain.

Shoulders Hold Our Emotional BurdensHERE IS AN EXERCISE TO HELP RELAX YOUR SHOULDERS: 

1.  Round your shoulders forward and even sink your chest. Un- hunch the shoulders, spread the collar bones, lift your chest and relax your neck and jaw.

2.  Take your left hand and start tapping at your right shoulder joint and tap up to where shoulder joins neck.  Do this several times and then switch and  tapping your left shoulder with your right hand. Emotional releases sometimes happen during energy healing, Reiki and massage sessions.

3.  I believe you can release some of the emotions stored in your shoulders while doing the simple exercise to relax your shoulders mentioned above by repeating:

  “I RELEASE,  I RELAX,  I RELEASE”

I hope you might experiment releasing both any Inner World or Outer World Emotional Burdens you might be holding during this Holiday Season and throughout the year.

Meditating with Malachite

Why consider Meditating with Malachite?   Here are a few suggestions:

1.  Malachite reveals the truth about oneself and brings to the surface that which is unknown or unseen to the conscious mind.  Some practitioners have used Malachite in meditations to get in touch with the Earth Mother.

2.  Meditating with Malachite shows you where dis-harmonies are within your mind, body and soul.   Our bodies can tell us what we need, what we are missing and what is required to do to correct the problem, but often it is hard to be able to listen to what our bodies are saying.

3.  Meditating with Malachite helps strengthen the immune system.  While meditating, hold a Malachite crystal in each hand and allow the energies to flush through your body. Visualize the energy sweeping through your blood stream cleaning out all the little germs and viruses that make us sick.  It is important when Meditating with Malachite to always work with polished stones.   Malachite is toxic in raw form and one must avoid breathing its dust.

Judy Hall gives us the following Malachite Meditation in her book, Life-Changing Crystals.  This meditation is a potent way to connect with the issues that are keeping you from stepping into your power. It helps resolve past issues and energetic blocks.  Malachite’s strong protective properties and wisdom make you feel safe as you gently let go of old thoughts, feelings and experiences that no longer serve you.

Meditating With Malachite

 1.  Find a quiet place, and breathe gently, bring your attention into the crystal.

Keep your eyes half-open and gaze at the whorls and contours of your Malachite as you connect with the crystal’s power.  Feel its strength in your hand.  Let the energy radiate up your arms and into your heart and mind. As you focus on each whorl, let it take you inward.  Allow the bands to move you gently into contact with your deepest self. Close your eyes and relax.Meditating With Malachite

2.  When you are ready, place the crystal over your solar plexus.

Ask the crystal to let you know what you are holding onto, and what would be beneficial to release.  Acknowledge any emotions that arise, and lovingly release them.  Take your mind around your body to any areas of tension or pain, breathe gently and let them go.  Let the Malachite show you any hooks that are in your heart and gently dissolve them, filling their place with forgiveness and loving energy.Meditating With Malachite

3.  Let them go, with forgiveness in your heart.

Ask the Malachite to show you how the past is affecting your present, and how your mind and your emotions control what you manifest.  Willingly surrender all that no longer serves you – all the pain, emotions, beliefs, and expectations that have weighed you down and held you back.  Acknowledge them and let them go, with forgiveness in your heart.

4.   Step into your power.

Ask the crystal to show you the gifts hidden behind the old pain, the qualities you have developed and the resources you can draw on.  Allow yourself to know how you will use them, and how you will work with Malachite in the future to manifest your new reality.  If there is any other information from Malachite, wait quietly for the answer.  If an inner figure appears, negotiate a positive role for it.Meditating With Malachite

5.  Feel the strong protection from the Malachite wrapping around you.

Before you begin the return journey, bring your attention to the subtle bodies around your physical self, and ask the Malachite to draw off and transmute any negative energies or disharmonies that have not been released.  Finally, feel the strength of the crystal and its powerful connection to the Earth, grounding you into your physical existence, bringing you fully into the present moment.  When you feel ready, thank the Malachite, open your eyes, get up and move around.

Nature's Healing Gifts to Me

I just returned from receiving training on initiation of the Munay-Ki Nine Rites, held at Joshua Tree Retreat Center.  I was delighted to be with 30 students from USA, Mexico, France, Netherlands and Germany.  We received all the Nine Rites from two amazing Four Winds Society instructors, and  also from the three beautiful Shaman/Medicine Men from Peru pictured below.

I was prepared to be grateful for these instructions on Munay-ki but not for Nature’s Desert Gifts.   The healing started at sunrise and continued until covered by the most magnificent blanket of the Milky Way Galaxy every night.  Each morning before class another path would take me to a desert healing gift.

On one of my morning walks before class, I discovered a labyrinth.  I found myself walking the spiral and being very much pulled  to Mother Earth.  I  wasn’t disappointed when I looked up the following meaning:  A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.

Every morning I would see so much in the desert that reminded me of the following part of the Sacred Space Prayer dedicated to Mother Earth.  “We are gathered for the healing of all your children,  the stone people, the plant people. the four-legged, the two-legged, the creepy crawlers, the finned, the furred, and winged ones.  All our relations.”  I was quite sure all these relations were there to meet on the desert.

Boasting some of the darkest nights in Southern California, Joshua Tree National Park offers many visitors the chance to admire the Milky Way Galaxy for the first time in their lives. I can totally attest to the magic of spending two nights of celebration under the stars.  Even the picture doesn’t give it justice.  It was like an out-of-body experience.

Women Connect to Goddes Selene

Selene, Goddess of the Full Moon, is a Titan – the generation of Greek divinities that ruled prior to the Olympians.  She is called Luna by the Romans.  Selene is depicted as a woman riding side-saddle on a horse, or in a chariot drawn by a pair of winged horses.  She wears a crown with the lunar sphere or crescent on it, or has these moon images on her cloak.  Author Jean Shinoda Bolen writes the following in her book,  Artemis, the Indomitable Spirit in Everywoman: “With the description of Selene as the full moon incarnate, I was struck with the realization that it was her fullness as she is that needs emphasis.”   I agree with the author when she also shares that a woman’s maturity brings qualities of her passions, dedication, and perseverance to the place where a woman can say, “I Am A Full Woman”.  This affirmation appeared in Rachel Bagby’s (award-winning artist, author, composer) dream when she was feeling anything by full.  It was a healing song for her.   Since then it has been so for countless other women, who dance and chant, ”I am a full woman, I am a full woman”,  and take this message to heart.

The shadow aspect is obsessive passion that completely takes over and negatively impacts on your health and self esteem.

How To Work With The Lover

You may be drawn to this stereotype if you are looking to attract a new lover or to re-ignite the fire in an existing relationship.  The Lover can also be a useful tool to discover what you are passionate about in life.

On the shadow side you need to ask, whether the energy and time you are putting into relationships, or enthusiasm for projects is excessive? If this continues for too long you are likely to suffer from stress and physical ill health.

Reflexology gently affects our organs, glands, and each part of the body by stimulating reflex pressure points on different anatomy locations.  Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure health disorders, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma, headaches, PMS, sinusitis and more.   I invite you to try practicing reflexology by following the guide shown below.  This information is provided by Valerie Voner, C.R.T., author of The Everything Reflexology Book.    All you need to do is set aside so quiet time for yourself.  Select the area you are needing help and simply press on the pressure points as indicated on that particular illustration.  It is best to press on the pressure points firmly but not too hard.  It is also okay to massage the point in a circular motion.  Feel free to revisit pressure points several times a day for 10- 30 seconds until healing is accomplished.

Nature's Healing OpportunitiesSometimes we need to take advantage of nature’s healing photo opportunities that surround us 24/7.    I decided to share these nature’s healing photos taken on my morning walks.  There is a great deal written on therapeutic photography.   When we see something in nature that moves us to snap a picture with our camera, there is an intimate personal bond captured at that moment.

I have been extremely delighted with my latest early morning walks through the neighborhood.  The phone camera came in handy when capturing the above photo where someone created Fall humor in nature for all to enjoy.  Each morning when passing this gigantic hedge, it puts a smile on my face and a warm connection to a neighbor I haven’t met.  Remember a smile is the key to unlock the door of healing love-energy, or also known as (SMILE = Start + My + Internal + Love + Engine).  Nature has love-energy photo opportunities for everyone!
