Goddss Wisdom-Atlantia's Ritual Chant

Here is what Amy Zerner & Monte Farber shared about Atlantia in their Goddess Guide Me Divine Wisdom For Your Head, Heart, and Home.  Atlantia is a conception of the attributes that would have been ascribed to the Goddess by women and men of the mythical lost continent of Atlantis.  In their writing,  Atlantia is Goddess of the Unexpected and the Atlantean Goddess of Invention.  She, ultimately, represents the completely independent female half of a partnership with an equally independent male.

The following Is Atlantia’s ritual and chant: MAKE THAT CHANGE!

Goddess Wisdom-Atlantia's Ritual Chant1.  Use at lease three stones or crystals to form a triangle on the ground large enough for you to sit within it cross-legged.  Hold a small drum, rattle or other percussion instrument, which represents woman’s connection to the rythyms of life.

2.  Breathe deeply and with each inhalation, visualize new and exciting changes entering your life and your triangle of power.  With every exhalation imagine the old and outdated leaving you and your triangle.  Strike your drum or shake the rattle as you recite the following words:

Goddess of the new,

Goddess of all change,

Help my situation,

Watch it rearrange.

3.  Keep reciting these words in time to the drum until you lose yourself in the chant.  You will find that when you have stopped dwelling on your situation, you will be struck with a new idea on how to proceed.  You can then leave the triangle.Goddess Wisdom-Atlantias's Ritual Chant

4.  Next move eleven things in your home, that you have not moved in a year.

5.  Give away eleven articles of clothing you have not worn in a year.

Hopefully with practicing this ritual, you will take on the roll of Atlantia and begin to address any necessary issues.   Unexpected positive results from your efforts to make changes in your life will follow.

CHANT! CHANT! CHANT!

Goddess Wisdom - Freyja's Ritual

Kris Waldherr, in Goddess Inspiration Oracle Guide, refers to the Norse Goddess Freyja, as the Goddess of Beauty.  She presided over the living and the dead.  The author points out that Freyja’s story reminds us to acknowledge the healing power of beauty and love which are forces more powerful than war or death.

Amy Zerner & Monte Farber, in Goddess Guide Me!, writes Freyja, is the Scandinavian and Germanic Goddess of Leadership.  Today being Friday, the day named for Goddess Freyja, lets look at Freyja’s Ritual taken from Goddess Guide Me!

Stand Out and Shine!

Goddess Wisdom - Freyja's Ritual1.  You may invoke Freyja’s leadership abilities by wearing a golden token.  Choose a potent incense and light it.  As it burns take a moment to center yourself.  Breathe in the pungent odor five times as you watch the smoke rise.

2.  Using Yellow paper, cut out a five-pointed star and inscribe these words upon it: “Lead the Way.”  Repeat the following invocation five times:

Gracious goddess, lead the way.

Guide and council me today.

Let Me emulate your role

and lead us proudly to our goal.

3.  Fasten the yellow star to your bathroom mirror, where you will see it every day beside your image.

4.  Look up at the stars and feel your Inner Goddess shine and know that you can think creatively, feel proud, and lead the way.

Goddess Wisdom – Abeona

Goddess Wisdom - AbeonaAbeona—Goddess of Departures

Abeona is a goddess of Ancient Rome.  Her  name comes from the Latin verb abeo, “to depart, go away, or go forth”.  She was believed to especially guard children as they took their first steps away from home to explore the world.

Goddess Abeona  supports us as we break out of our comfort zone and enter into new levels of independence, self-discovery and personal responsibility, which concurs with the added meaning of abeo, ”to die, disappear, or be changed”.

In the Goddess Inspiration Oracle Guide, author Kris Waldherr writes, “In the eyes of the universe, we are all children. Whenever we start something new, it is as if we are learning to walk for the first time. We may stumble initially.  But if we persist, we will discover new vistas beyond what we originally expected”.

I am new at studying these feminine deities and with each one they quickly become one of my favorites.  I love that Abeona is also known for protecting  travelers.  It is very reassuring  to me,  knowing she will be watching over me throughout any of my future  travels and adventures.

The Minoan Snake Goddess of Crete

Minoan Snake Goddess Of CreteThis Snake Goddess stands 11 5/8 ” tall, made of clay and was found in 1903, at Knossos (Crete), Greece; ca. 1600 BCE.   Snakes in her hands and the feline on her head imply that she has power over  the animal world.  The exposed breasts (may allude to fertility).

It is believed the Snake Goddess was extremely important in Minoan culture. The snake forms spirals with its body, and resembles the umbilicus, the life-giving cord which connects the new life with its source. Snakes are also associated with venom that could be used for medicinal and trance inducing properties.

What  was it like during the Minoan period living on the Island of Crete?  This was a society of peace and no war. Goddesses and women were revered as the source of life.

If you would like to read more about the Minoan Goddesses, I recommend Rebirth of the Goddess, by Carol P. Christ, Ph.D.  Also you might be like me, and think seriously about joining Dr. Christ on her guided Goddess Pilgrimage of Crete.  Maybe we would learn more about the Snake Goddess story and her wisdom.

Release That Pain!

On a moonlit evening, fill a bath with warm water and a few drops of sweet-scented oil.  Add a cup of sea salt.  Enter the bath and, while soaking, use your finger to write your name on the surface of the water as you repeat twelve times:

I am a part of the waters of life.

Where they flow, I will go,

Ending discord, hurt, and strife.

Polynesian Goddess - Hina

Polynesion Goddess HinaSerge Kahili King, Ph.D. shares in his article titled, Hawaiian Goddesses, the following: ”Hina seems to be the oldest goddess, for she is known all over the Pacific as Hina, Sina, or ‘Ina.  In many stories she is closely associated with the moon, the ocean, and female activities like tapa making, as well as healing. She has many, many different aspects and epithets covering a wide range of human activities. In the oldest stories she is variously the wife, sister, mother, or grandmother of Maui, and she has also been incorporated into newer religions as the wife of Kane or Ku…”

Tahitian Goddess, Hina,  is known as the Lady in the Moon who shines on us with her changing faces. As the dark moon, she presides over death. As the waxing moon, she is the creator who made people from clay and the moon her home. As the full moon, she embodies a mature woman’s warrior spirit. As the waning moon, She is the aging crone full of wisdom and insight.

During the next full moon, step outside, look up at the moon, and spend some intimate time with The Wise  Hina.  SEE WHAT HAPPENS!

Pele-Goddess of Fire Magic

Pele

My last week past very quickly while studying Hawaiian Huna & Shamanism from Dr. Serge Kahili King.  His course shared the following: “In the Hawaiian language, the word “goddess” would translate as akua, which actually means an idea, concept or archetype.  Shamans often personify these in order to work with them as sources of inspiration, or channels to the High Self…”

Pele-Goddess of Fire MagicI was staying in Volcano Village near the Kilauea Volcano.  According to Hawaiian legends, this is the home of the fire goddess Pele.  Pele is also known as the goddess of energy, creativity, passionate love and at times jealous wrath.   Her element is fire and she can be invoked to increase emotional or biological energy, motivation and focus.

Pele represents Shamanism Principle MAKIA:  Energy flows where attention goes, and attention goes where energy flows.  Change your experience by changing your focus.  I got to experience Pele on my last morning of classes.  Several classmates, myself and one of our instructors met at the volcano for sunrise chanting.  The goal was to get there while it was dark so we could see Pele’s red flames.  The instructor and I arrived a little late and didn’t get to experience seeing Pele.  However, the five of us did the sunrise chant, honored Pele and when we completed Pele decided to share her glow for me in the day light which I was told is very rare.  MAHALO, Pele for showing your fire magic!

Brigit is the Celtic Goddess of Communication and her following ritual helps one to accept help from Mother Nature when making decisions:

1.  Select ribbons of different colors to represent two courses of action and write each on one of the ribbons.

2.  Tie them on a tree branch, symbol of the Brigit’s Sacred Grove, and recite the following incantation three times as you do so:

I take these ribbons

And tie them to the tree.

Whichever way the wind blows

Reveals my path to me.

3.  Return to the tree in a few days and check the ribbons, they can help you-MAKE A DECISION!  The ribbon whose words are clearer to you holds the choice to make.  If there is no change in the ribbons, then postpone your decision.  GoddessBrigit'sRitual-MakeADecision
