Tuesday's Healing Word Positive ThoughtsPositive thoughts are mini-affirmations.  In Louise L. Hay’s book Experience Your Good Now! she writes: “Affirmations are like planting seeds in the ground.  First they germinate, then they sprout roots, and then they shoot up through the ground.  It takes some time to go from a seed to a full-grown plant.  And so it is with affirmations—it takes some time from the first declaration to the final demonstration.  Be patient.”Tuesday's Healing Words Positive Thoughts

 Tuesday's Healing Word Gentleness

Gentleness is an attitude of tenderness and love toward people and the world around us.  It takes strength to call on the self-control that gentleness requires, particularly when we feel hurt or angry.

Tuesday's Healing Word Gentleness

“Gentleness towards self and others makes life a little lighter.”
― Deborah Day, BE HAPPY NOW!

Tuesday's Healing Word Gentleness

Being gentle with ourselves

helps us to be more forgiving

and kind to others.

Gentleness trades control for an embrace.

Gentleness is moving wisely,

touching softly,

speaking quietly,

and thinking kindly.

Taking time for gentle activities

nurtures our souls.

Contentment is an awareness of sufficiency, a sense that we have enough and we are enough.  It is appreciating the simple gifts of life – friendship, books, a good laugh, a moment of beauty, a cool drink on a hot day, and a hot drink on a cold day.

Your Body Listens To Seedthoughts

Barbara Hoberman Levine, author of Your Body Believes Every Word You Say writes,  “the term Seedthoughts occurred to her as a summary of the correspondence of language to symptoms.  Seedthoughts is shorthand for the idea that thoughts affect us physically and emotionally. They can lead to the development of physical symptoms of disease in our bodies.  Our thoughts are like seeds that we plant in our minds and hearts.  When they germinate they produce wellness or illness.”

Your Body Listens To Seedthoughts

In the author’s Self-Help Experience # 11, she gives instructions on how to change upsetting thoughts.

Purpose:  To give you practice in changing your mind to control the effects of your emotions.  Being upset will simply add more power and energy to a negative thought.  You can abort an anxiety attack with this harmonizing technique.

1.  Release a negative thought by saying a particular word or phrase, like “cancel”, “delete”, or “God forbid”.  (Example – You might think “This project is a headache. Cancel, cancel.”) After you cancel, replace the negative thought with a positive one. (Example – This project is very challenging.)   This is reprograming your mind in a more positive way.Your Body Listens to Seedthoughts

Tuesday's Healing Word Independence

Independence (noun): the state or quality of being independent; freedom from the influence, control, or determination of others.  Independence is confident self-reliance.  One of my favorite pastimes is watching eagles soaring gracefully.  It looks like freedom of independence.

Tuesday's Healing Word Independence

Independence for all women looks like this:

1.  We have the courage to see reality with our own eyes and not through the eyes of others.

2.  We dare to be our true selves and make decisions without undue influence from others.

3.  We responsibly care for ourselves.

4.  We bring ourselves fully to a relationship yet honor the boundaries that protect each other’s dignity.  We enjoy intimacy without enmeshment.

5.  We do not depend on others to define our value.Tuesday's Healing Word Independence

One of my personal heroines is Lillian Carter mother of former President Jimmy Carter.  At the age of 68, she applied to join the Peace Corps.  She received three months training and then was sent to India where she worked for 21 months with patients afflicted with leprosy.  It was Lillian Carter I would think about when I started back to school and could almost imagine this feisty lady saying to me, “we don’t have to be spring chickens to follow our new passions”.  I first read her book, Away From Home Letters to My Family, in 2008.  Her confidence and perseverance, along with all the challenges she faced, still motivates me.

She is truly my CONFIDENCE MUSE.

Tuesday's Healing Word Adventure
The definition of an Adventure is an exciting or unusual experience that might sometimes involve risks.  We also can enjoy the experience of an adventure through our senses of smelling, tasting, feeling, seeing and hearing.

“I doubt whether the world holds for any one

a more soul-stirring surprise than the first adventure with ice-cream.”

~Heywood Broun

Tuesday's Healing Word Adventure

Going on a journey uncharted through a forest is an example of an adventure.  While studying Hawaiian Huna/Shamanism last week, I got to face possible fear on two healing adventures: One was a pitch black 1/4 mile walk on a road through the rain forest at 4:30 a.m.  The second was crawling through a long and very dark lava tube.  Both tested my depending on higher self, awareness, and trust.
