Tuesday's Healing Word - PatiencePatience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.  This is something I will strive continually to achieve.  It was  suggested I pick a strong healing word today.  I thought about it and realized it takes a great deal of strength to trust and practice the following:

 Contentment is an awareness of sufficiency, a sense that we have enough and we are enough.  It is appreciating the simple gifts of life – friendship, books, a good laugh, a moment of beauty, a cool drink on a hot day, and a hot drink on a cold day.

Your Body Listens To Seedthoughts

Barbara Hoberman Levine, author of Your Body Believes Every Word You Say writes,  “the term Seedthoughts occurred to her as a summary of the correspondence of language to symptoms.  Seedthoughts is shorthand for the idea that thoughts affect us physically and emotionally. They can lead to the development of physical symptoms of disease in our bodies.  Our thoughts are like seeds that we plant in our minds and hearts.  When they germinate they produce wellness or illness.”

Your Body Listens To Seedthoughts

In the author’s Self-Help Experience # 11, she gives instructions on how to change upsetting thoughts.

Purpose:  To give you practice in changing your mind to control the effects of your emotions.  Being upset will simply add more power and energy to a negative thought.  You can abort an anxiety attack with this harmonizing technique.

1.  Release a negative thought by saying a particular word or phrase, like “cancel”, “delete”, or “God forbid”.  (Example – You might think “This project is a headache. Cancel, cancel.”) After you cancel, replace the negative thought with a positive one. (Example – This project is very challenging.)   This is reprograming your mind in a more positive way.Your Body Listens to Seedthoughts

Independence (noun): the state or quality of being independent; freedom from the influence, control, or determination of others.  Independence is confident self-reliance.  One of my favorite pastimes is watching eagles soaring gracefully.  It looks like freedom of independence.

Independence for all women looks like this:

1.  We have the courage to see reality with our own eyes and not through the eyes of others.

2.  We dare to be our true selves and make decisions without undue influence from others.

3.  We responsibly care for ourselves.

4.  We bring ourselves fully to a relationship yet honor the boundaries that protect each other’s dignity.  We enjoy intimacy without enmeshment.
