Doreen Virtue offers a forgiveness exercise in her book Chakra Clearing-Awakening Your Spiritual Power to Know and Heal. She writes “This is an extremely powerful way to open up any blocked or shrunken chakras.” This exercise takes between 30 minutes or more to complete. Many of Doreen Virtue’s clients and students report the time is a worthwhile investment. Here are the steps to freedom through forgiveness:

1. Know the benefits of forgiveness:  Peacefulness and increased energy are the prizes and forgiveness is the price.  2. Take a forgiveness inventory:  Write the names of all living and deceased beings you feel have wronged or irritated you. This list could be 3 or 4 pages long and almost everyone includes their own name somewhere on the list.  3. Release and forgive:  Select a quiet place where you will have no interruptions and start going down the list one name at a time. Hold an image of the person in your mind and tell him or her, “I FORGIVE YOU AND RELEASE YOU.  I AM FREE AND YOU ARE FREE.”  It is important to complete the entire list in one setting which might take 30 minutes or more.  4. Do nightly releasements: Do a mental review of the day- is there anyone you need to forgive?  It is important not to let resentments accumulate.  Forgiveness is freeing.  Good luck!foregiveness exercise for balance & harmony
