flowers for huna principles

Huna is a Hawaiian word adopted by Max Freedom Long (1890-1971) in 1936 to describe his theory of pseudoscience linked to ancient Hawaiian teachings. Huna, in its purest form is ancient knowledge enabling a person to connect to his or her highest wisdom within. My first introduction to Huna teachings were through reading books by Serge Kahili King, PH. D. Many native Hawaiians and academic experts generally dismiss Huna as New Age mythology, however, today I only want to share the following Seven Sacred Principles because we can gain harmony and balance by practicing these principles.

“Urban Shaman A Handbook for Personal and Planetary Transformation Based on The Hawaiian Way of the Adventurer” by Serge Kahili, PhD has the following Hawaiian chant translated into English.

Dr. Kahili includes this chant in courses he teaches on Hawaiian Shamanism:

“Be aware, be free,  be focused, be loved, be strong, be healed.”
