Chanting OM is recommended to release blockages that might be present in your throat region.  The OM sound is believed to have a positive effect on the nervous system, to strengthen the respiratory system and to energize every part of the body.  Chanting its three syllables sets up rebalancing vibrations in your body.   Here are the components of OMAAAH  OU  MMMMM  and directions on how to chant:OMcolorwheel

AAAH -open mouth wide and begin to loudly chant the initial syllable, AAAH, letting the sound begin in the pit of your abdomen.

OU - Gradually round your lips to allow the sound to morph into OU.  Feel it move up through your chest and throat region.

MMMMM - Continue rounding your lips more tightly to form the final sound, MMMMM.  Let the sound vibrate in your head and face, especially in your sinus cavities.

Feel free to repeat OM Chanting slowly, making each part of the sound as long as possible.   The sounds can become softer and softer until you are whispering or humming the chant.  Then begin to make the sound gradually louder again.
