Treasure Hunting Wishing Rocks

I absolutely love hunting for rocks when spending time either near a river, stream, ocean, or on the desert.  However, I only became aware of the legend or lore of ‘wishing rocks’ recently and am excited to suggest that treasure hunting for wishing rocks is very therapeutic.  Several photos shown below are personal wishing stones of friends, which will be identified.  I am honored that they allowed me to include their treasures.

A ‘wishing stone’ is thought to be a magical stone or pebble that is found often on the seashore and has a white quartz ring on it somewhere. The ring must be complete with no breaks or pauses in the circle it forms. The ring can be crossed by other rings, but must have no beginning and no end in order for the magic to work.

Popular lore holds that if you keep a ‘wishing rock’ in your pocket (or nearby) and make wishes on it, it will help your wishes come true.  Aside from the “single line” requirement, wishing rocks have no “rules” associated with them. They can be little or large, any color, any shape.  Like heart stones, wishing rocks also make a lovely gift.Treasure Hunting Wishing Rocks

Another legend declares that if you find a rock with a white line running around it, it is a ‘ wishing rock’. If you make a wish for yourself, it will come true, but if you make a wish for someone else, ALL of your wishes will come true!
