POWER OF PURPLE SUNRISE

CO-AUTHORED BY GUEST BLOGGER, TANYA JO WILSON

healing power of purple sunrise

With all of the recent tragedies we must remind ourselves that mother nature doesn’t want us bowing in fear, rather, she is looking for us to live our lives in a respectful state of mindful awareness. To understand that she is not our enemy, and that the same awe-inspiring force that brings tornadoes, earthquakes and hurricanes, is the same force that creates the ‘Healing Power of A Purple Sunrise.’  We will always struggle to reconcile the pain and suffering that comes with that which we can’t control.

However, to move toward the comfort that comes with acceptance might help us find a deeper sense of truth and understanding. We can remind ourselves to look for all the beautiful healing inspirations from Mother Nature, not through the lens of expectation, but through the lens of gratitude. Our challenge today and every day is to find our Purple Sunrise and share it with as many people as possible.

The thumbs and little toes are often the most sensitive digits to jumper-cable according to the teaching guidebook ‘The Touch of Healing’ by Alice Burmeister with Tom Monte.  We continue to explore Jin Shin Jyutsu® jumper-cabling technique called the thumb and little toe sequence.

thumb & little finger sequence

What to know about the thumbs: Thumbs dissipate general daily fatigue and promote healthy digestive function. We can release tension from the head, shoulders, and lungs by jumper-cabling either one.

thumb & little toe sequence

What to know about the little toes: We can release tension from the back, strengthen the kidney and bladder functions by jumper-cabling the little toes.

These thumb & little toe sequences can be used whenever you find yourself thinking or experiencing any of the following: 1. I’m out of balance. 2. I feel nervous. 3. I have muscle spasms. 4. I tire easily. 5.I have a fever. 6. I have a hard time breathing. 7. My digestive system is out of balance. 8. I feel mentally stressed. (Practice this technique as shown in illustrations for 1-2 minutes using either left or right hand and foot or both.)

malachite calms pain

Malachite is a soft mineral form of copper.  It can calm painful areas and draw out imbalances.  Malachite can also aid in concentration and is known as a protective stone in the field of aviation, where it is believed to stimulate awareness and prevent vertigo.  Malachite is worn to lower blood pressure, help detoxify the liver, to ease rheumatism and arthritis. Malachite is also said to ease cramps, including menstrual cramps and to facilitate childbirth.

Please note Malachite dust is toxic and  should only be used in its polished form.

healing word dance

Dance can be considered a form of non-verbal communication.  ”When Did You Stop Dancing?” Is a question asked by Shamans when someone is depressed.  We can look at dance (the action) as another self- healing modality to use for overall healing and happiness.

Tuesday's Healing Word-Dance

Besides connecting with your body, dance helps with balance, improving memory, assists in flexibility, and makes you feel alive.  Also a 21-year study of senior citizens, 75 and older, was led by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, to monitor rates of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. The only physical activity to offer protection against dementia was dancing.  The greatest risk reduction of any activity studied, cognitive or physical was dancing frequently at 76% compared to reading 35% and crossword puzzles at 47%.

AFFIRMATION: DANCING IS GREAT THERAPY!

nature's healing gift

When weather permits, I love kayaking. There are times I choose to be in a quiet and peaceful place amongst the water lilies. It is the solitude and the beauty that helps me become centered. I am surrounded by nature’s gifts of healing:

such as a ducklings riding a duck boat,

nature's healing gifts-duck boat

or ducklings playing hopscotch on lily pads.

Pink Bubble Visualization Technique

pink bubble technique

Internationally renowned author and teacher Shakti Gawain, describes the Pink Bubble Visualization Technique in her book Creative Visualization – Using the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life. Learning to visualize is one of the most empowering skills you can learn when it comes to healing your body. The more detailed the visual process is, the more effective the results will be.

How to Use the Pink Bubble Technique:

pink bubble technique1. Sit or lie down and relax.   Close your eyes and focus your mind on your breath.  Go deeper and deeper into relaxation.

2. Imagine something that you would like to manifest.  Imagine that it has already happened. See, feel and sense. Picture it as clearly as you can.

3. In your mind’s eye, place this vision or goal inside a pink bubble. Pink is associated with the heart. It represents your heart’s desire.

6. Let go of the bubble and imagine it floating off into the universe, containing your vision. This symbolizes that you are  emotionally “letting go” of it.  The bubble and its contents are free  to float around in the universe, attracting and gathering energy for its manifestation.

Release Neck & Shoulder Tension

May 22nd, 2013 | Posted by Velda in ENERGY HEALING

release neck & shoulder pain

Donna Eden in her book Energy Medicine gives us the two following exercises on how to release neck and shoulder tension and points out the benefits:

1. Take a hairbrush that has strong bristles and tap your shoulders in a steady rhythm until you feel more relaxed. The bristles on the hairbrush are like prongs that can break up congested energy.

2. Standing, with your arms stiffened and hanging down the sides of your body, make fists, and lift your shoulders high, rolling your head back and to the sides. Repeat this half-circle motion for 15-20 seconds a couple of times each day. You are giving your neck and shoulders a natural massage that softens the knots, breaks up calcium deposits, and frees energy to move through the area.

Have a great day!  I am off to buy an inexpensive strong bristle brush.

peacefulness good for the soul

We all long for peacefulness.  It is a sense of harmony, inner calmness and tranquility.  Peacefulness comes from quiet reflection, releasing the past and letting go of anxiety.  It is when we don’t give in to anger and resolve conflict in a just and gentle way.  We take care of ourselves by keeping a graceful pace, not becoming overwhelmed. Our peacefulness begins with peace in our hearts.

peacefulness is healing

 Peacefulness Affirmations:

I have a tranquil spirit.

I am thankful for the gift Peacefulness.

I enter the peace of reflection.

book touch of healing

This is a great book to add to your self-energy healing collection. We have already looked at Jin Shin Jyutsu® practice called cable-jumping using the fingers. The author Alice Burmeister with Tom Monte shows how one can balance disharmony by holding their fingers.

Later this week we will start looking at benefits of cable-jumping our toes. And in the future, we will look at the practice of revitalizing our entire being with the centers of the palms and the soles.
