tuesday's healing word wisdom

Wisdom is the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting. It is insight, common sense, and good judgment. Wisdom takes us beyond thought to a deeper knowing and grounds us with grace.

tuesday's healing word wisdom

“The teacher who is indeed wise

does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom

but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind”.

~ Khalil Gibran

 Liver3:great pouring-soothes, calms, relieves

Liver 3 (Great Pouring) is an important acupressure point for self-healing. It is a soothing point, calming the mind and relieving spasms. It subdues excess yang or stimulates stagnant energy in the liver, which helps facilitate the relief of migraines, frustration, anger, and the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.  It strengthens the liver, besides overcoming the effects of exercise, stress, strain and toxins in the body.

Here is an easy acupressure exercise:

Location: The web between the bones leading to the big toe and second toe (as shown in the pictures).  Place the fingers under the foot for support and press into the point with the thumb being careful to apply pressure in the hollow between the bones and the tendons rather than on the tendons.

There may be some tenderness.  Rub in small circles and imagine you are spreading chi (energy).  Repeat for other foot.

ho'oponopono peacemaking meditation

Ho’oponopono, pronounced “hoh oh pohno pohno is a Huna process that brings balance and harmony to one’s life.  It can be practiced anywhere and many ways.  This ancient healing practice was part of the long extended lomilomi training.  However, modern simplified versions are now being taught in workshops to make this exercise journey of healing and peacemaking more assessable.

Ho’oponopono healing is based on the following four statements:

ho'ponopono peacemaking meditation

The following Peacemaking Meditation is modeled after Vicki Howie’s “Heal Your Heart Chakra Using Ho’oponopono”, which you can hear on chakraboosters.com:

1. Begin lying down, rest left hand comfortably on the second chakra and the right hand on your heart. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth and relax into a normal breathing pattern.

2. Bring attention to someone you are feeling some disconnection or discord with and place them in a beautiful place and start sending out love to this person. Visualize your heart being connected to their heart with a magnificent rainbow of colors.

3. Visualize this rainbow of colors carrying the following words back and forth to the two hearts connected. Start saying these words slowly to yourself: “I am sorry…Please forgive me…I love you…Thank you”

As you repeat these four statements, healing begins from within for yourself and the other person. Continue to repeat these statements as a mantra for as long as you feel it is needed.  This is another excellent bedtime meditation.

Happiness Swimming With The Fish

Happiness swimming with the fish

“I am only happy when I am swimming like a fish” ~ Duke Kahanamoku, Hawaii’s most famous citizen and the ‘Father of INTERNATIONAL Surfing’

happiness swimming with the fish

I have been blessed the last few days because I have been swimming in the vicinity of some of the world’s rarest marine wildlife.  Hawaii is the home to over 450 kinds of tropical fish.  One doesn’t need snorkeling to visualize these magnificent creatures in all their glowing colors and sizes. These beautiful fish are a light show at the bottom of the sea.

When was the last time you visited an aquarium or strolled into a pet store to spend time watching the fish?

Hawaiian Sunrise Chant

November 7th, 2013 | Posted by Velda in ENERGY HEALING | SOUND,CHANTS,MANTRAS

hawaiian sunrise chantSignificance of Oli (Chants) in Hawaiian Society is that the vibration of the word has the same frequency as what is being spoken of at the deepest level of the chant. The ancient languages including Hawaiian, Indian (Sanskrit), Greek, Latin, and Hebrew all have this effect. English does not. When chanting, we can expand our neurology and attune it to spirit & our consciousness. The following is a simple Hawaiian chant practiced before sunrise:

Peridot – “Hawaiian Diamond”

 Peridot Hawaiian Diamond

More from the legends and history of the Hawaiians which I find so intriguing: Peridot is locally known as the ”Hawaiian Diamond” and is notably found in Oahu’s famous Diamond Head landmark. It is created from the mineral Olivine which forms as lava cools.

Peridot is treasured in Hawaii as the tears of goddess Pele.  Pele lives inside the largest active volcanoes and is described as “she who shapes the sacred land.”  She is the goddess of fire, lightening, wind, and volcanoes. According to Hawaiian legend, Pele created Oahu and the other Hawaiian islands by her volcanic activity.

The ancients believed that Peridot had the power to ward off evil spirits, nightmares and enchantments. It was also used as a medical remedy to treat asthma and other ailments. Its power was considered most potent when the stone was set in gold. Peridot was also said to strengthen any medicine drunk from goblets carved from the stone.

tuesday's healing word - aloha

The letters of the Hawaiian word A-L-O-H-A help us to remember:
