The Exercise-Power of Affirmations is discussed in the book Experience Your Good Now!   The author, Louise L. Hay, states that writing an affirmation can intensify its power.  She suggests that we write a positive affirmation about our health 25 times.  We can create our own or use one of the following:


My healing is already in process.

I listen with love to my body’s messages.

My health is radiant, vibrant, and dynamic now.

I am grateful for my perfect health.

I deserve good health.

When asked a question by a client, “why do I think a person gets a health related problem on one particular side of the body?”  I didn’t have the answer.  However, I discovered that Louise L. Hay has addressed the left and right side of the body in her book Heal Your Body.  Following is what she has written for the problems, probable causes, and the new thought patterns (affirmations):

Problem – Left Side of Body; Probable Cause – Represents receptivity, taking in, feminine energy, women, the mother; New Thought PatternMY FEMININE ENERGY IS BEAUTIFULLY BALANCED.

Problem – Right Side of Body; Probable Cause – Giving out, letting go, masculine energy, men, the father: New Thought Pattern – I BALANCE MY MASCULINE ENERGY EASILY AND EFFORTLESSLY.

Louise L. Hay is the guru of writing affirmation books.  In her book Experience Your Good Now! Learning to Use Affirmations.  She includes numerous exercises on different ways to work with affirmations.  In chapter 3, Affirmations for Health, she has five exercises to practice. Her EXERCISE: The Power of Affirmations, she writes the following: “Let’s discover the power of written affirmations!  Writing an affirmation can intensify its power.  Write a positive affirmation about your health 25 times.”  She recommends that you create your own affirmation or use one of the following she includes in her book:

Affirmation for Knee Problems

Louise L. hay in her book,  Heal Your Body, writes the following probable causes for knee problems:  “Stubborn ego and pride.  In ability to bend.  Fear.  Inflexibility.  Won’t give in.”

This is the new thought pattern she recommends as an affirmation for knee problems:  “Forgiveness.  Understanding.  Compassion.  I bend and flow with ease, and all is well.”

Healing Heart & Blood Affirmations

I think it is a wonderful idea to  wrap up this Valentine week with Louise Hay’s Heart Affirmation from her book, Heal Your Body.  She writes “The Heart represents the center of love and security.”   She gives us the following Heart Affirmation:   “MY HEART BEATS TO THE RHYTHM OF LOVE.”




It would be important to include Louise Hay’s Blood Affirmation from the same book.  She writes “The Blood represents joy in the body flowing freely.”  She gives us the following Blood Affirmation:  “I AM THE JOY OF LIFE EXPRESSING & RECIEVING.”


Healing Affirmations for the Back

Many of us suffer from some back issues.  Today I want to share the following healing affirmations for the back from Louise L. Hay’s book, Heal Your Body.  When you are choosing to use one or all of these affirmations, find a quiet time, relax, and most of all give your full attention to the area of the back where you want to use the healing affirmation.  Repeat as often as needed each affirmation with love and compassion.   I like to end my back affirmations rolling my shoulders several times first backwards and then forwards to help release more tension.   LETS TAKE CARE OF OUR BACK!

Affirmation for Hip Problems

Hay in her book “Heal Your Body” writes the following affirmation for those having problems with hips.  she indicates the probable cause for hip problems is “Fear of going forward in major decisions.  Nothing to move forward to.”  She states the following new thought pattern (affirmation):  “I AM IN PERFECT BALANCE.  I MOVE FORWARD IN LIFE WITH EASE AND WITH JOY AT EVERY AGE.”
